Apparently when she told her fans to vote 35,000 people registered to vote. And that’s what scares republicans. Republicans win when people stay home and don’t vote.

Not a Swiftie but I certainly admire her. She has taken on those who want to hold her down, want to exploit her sexually, want to stalk her and scare her, want to keep her hard work for themselves and now want to brand her as a political disrupter.

I’m so happy that she sets such a great example for young women around the world. She’s successful because of her own dedication, hard work and kindness.

YOU GO GIRL!

Hopefully she will end up publicly supporting President Biden. This year in particular due to the Trump and overall Republican threat to democracy and therefore honestly the Trump and Republican threat to international stability, we need well-recognized musicians and other public personalities such as actors and actresses to also come out very publicly to

(1) encourage voters to register and then vote,

(2) support President Biden, and

(3) if that is successful then continue your provide positive social input to help nurture and foster the great healing that we need, the intentional reduction in polarization, and the return to some semblance of normalcy in the Republican Party.

The left also needs to trend back toward the productive, respectful center. This “great healing” will be a 10 year body of work, or longer. We need cultural figures such as Swift to assist with that.

George Lakoff's "Don't Think of an Elephant" was a game-changer for me in determining how I frame my arguments as an environmental writer. This deconstruction of Taylor Swift's power is enlightening and inspiring--why she strikes fear in the heart of conservatives. My favorite line is "She is a powerful young woman who challenges the traditional social hierarchy." This is important writing, and I thank you.

I think I may have to come out of the Swiftie closet! Thank you!

This authority thing is really the clencher though - she just won’t stop when they tell her to! How infuriating!

Maybe a little bit more on why a hierarchy is even necessary? IMO, they can only fuel their need to feel superior (to soothe their inner poor self esteem) by creating inferiors who don’t exist in reality. Well, other people’s reality.

Does the privacy of the voting booth activate the frame of the privacy of a (normally private) sexual behavior?

With the 2016 election imminent many voters told pollsters(i.e., the OPPOSITE of a "private frame"...aka A VERY PUBLIC FRAME) they were not going to vote for Trump... but in the privacy of the voting booth they voted for Trump.

Did the privacy of the voting booth activate the frame of sex which in turn activated the frame of sabotage?

Describing MAGA political ideology as regressive rather than conservative is precisely accurate. MAGA think is not conservative, it is regressive. Very helpful. Thank you Gil. Rock on Taylor and all you Swifties!

As a child of the 60's I've been hoping musicians would would again take up the mantle of rejecting the status quo as they did in the 60's and 70's. Taylor Swift is playing her part and inspiring others of her generation to participate in the political process!

She and Selena Gomez also attended a pro Palestinian fund raiser with Ramy Youssef.
