It’s no secret that Gavin Newsom has pivoted to the political right as he readies his 2028 presidential campaign. After all, California's Democratic governor hosts an entire podcast that largely consists of him lavishing praise on figures like Steve Bannon and Ben Shapiro.
In a recent interview with the Atlantic, the California governor made his strategy clear. American voters, he said, prefer candidates who are “strong and wrong.”
But is that really true?
